The Union Station Train Station
Erie, PA | Re-Development, Revitalization and Rehabilitation
The Sommers Development Group acquired historic Union Station in 1984 for the purpose of historic redevelopment/revitalization. Union Station was built and dedicated in 1927 and was one of the most advanced and modern train stations at the time. It was set to be demolished and SRG, through strategic collaboration and negotiations, was able to purchase the historic site and avoid it being demolished.
Sommers Development Group was able to utilize and negotiate historic tax credits involving the re-development of the historic site. Union State was developed and restored into over 95,000 square feet of productive commercial, office and retail space.
